CONICYT– PCI. REDES-180178 (2019 – 2020) International Network for Research on Functional Foods.
A new International Network for Research on Functional Foods will be created with the objective of establishing an International Network devoted to perform a comprehensive research on functional foods applying foodomics tools. This International Network will be led by Prof. Dr. Gertrud Morlock from Germany, Prof. Dr. Antonio Segura-Carretero and Prof. Dr. David Arraez-Román from Spain and Prof. Dr. Mario Aranda from Chile. The main expected outcomes are a) to perform a comprehensive research on functional foods applying foodomics tools; b) to contribute with Formation of Advanced Human Capital at PhD level through research stays, short courses and seminars; c) to improve kind and amount of experimental data, which will allow the Publication of at least 6 scientific articles in Q1 Journals and d) to apply a new joint research projects (National and International Calls). The principal proposal strengths are: a) multidisciplinary research group composed of scientists devoted to Food Analytical Chemistry, Food Technology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology; b) extraordinary International collaboration: Prof. Dr. Gertrud Morlock, world leader and pioneer of HPTLC/Bioassay/MS methods and Profs. Dr. Antonio Segura-Carretero and Dr. David Arraez- Roman, renowned expert of functional food analysis from CIDAF and c) availability of state-of-the-art equipment.
